Since 2010, Sharon has felt called to serve people in need at area homeless camps.   She together with others at her church learned that there were several mobile homeless camps in the Seattle area. They began by serving meals each month and helping with moves for Tent City 4 (TC4).  Over the years, she enlisted the help of friends, friends of friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, co-workers and people who attend Mountain Creek Christian Fellowship.

In 2012, when Camp Unity Eastside was formed, she assisted with CUE’s early formation.   She helped to get donations and to get the camp set up as a mobile encampment on the Eastside for people without permanent housing.   For several months she and her amazing team served a monthly taco bar dinner for both Camp Unity and TC4, though they felt called to support one encampment and that it would be Camp Unity.

Since then, they have continued to serve a taco bar for dinner each month at Camp Unity, assisted with moves, and donated funds, supplies, food and other items.  Sharon’s team includes people from many walks of life though all have a heart to love and serve people.    “It has been a tremendous blessing serving the residents of CUE.  Each person at the camp is a gift to me and my team.   We very much enjoy serving a meal, but we mostly enjoy sitting down during each meal and visiting and eating with them.”

Thank you Sharon!!  Camp Unity Eastside is very grateful for your many years of care and generous support for residents through meals, supplies, help with moves, and donations of funds for camp operation.
