We are not accepting new campers at this time.

Camp Unity has been a tent village on Seattle’s Eastside providing a safe place for people to stay and regain stability as part of a supportive community.

Typically what you would see at Camp Unity is:

  • Rows of personal tents lined up on platforms to keep the floors more dry.
  • Community tents where dinners are provided by local volunteers (on most nights), residents can enjoy coffee or heat a meal in the microwave.
  • Access to hand warmers, socks, batteries, other donated items and Wi-Fi (typically).
  • A trailer that offers hot showers plus a washer/dryer.
  • Residents on security duty and camp supervisor duty
  • Portable toilets that are regularly cleaned and emptied.
  • Waste management for a sanitary camp.

Depending on the season, Camp Unity has normally had 15-20 residents. The camp is typically hosted at a church and remains at that location for 4 months. When it comes time to move, moving trucks and volunteers help the residents get to the next location.

Each camper has a personal tent where they can sleep and store their belongings. Electricity is not provided in personal tents.

Campers must meet these requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Possess valid Washington or other state’s ID (driver’s license or ID card). Passports and BIA IDs are not accepted.
  • Free of any outstanding warrants (including non-extraditable out-of-state warrants)
  • Free of any sex offender status
  • Free of any no-contact or temporary restraining orders against current CUE residents
  • Physically capable of walking around on their own power and lifting up to 20-40 pounds.

Camp Unity is a drug- and alcohol-free camp, including all forms of marijuana. We reserve the right at any time to test a resident for intoxicants. Refusal to comply with testing will result in permanent expulsion from camp.

The camp does not allow pets or emotional support animals.
