Throughout the year, Camp Unity sees a wide variety of volunteers at our quarterly camp moves, nightly dinners, and other community events.
Sometimes, a person just shows up to help but doesn’t exactly know why Camp Unity is so important to our residents. Here is a new 40-second video we prepared to explain it!
Video Transcription
Every day at Camp Unity on Seattle’s Eastside, about 25 people are given a place to store their belongings and to get a safe night of sleep.
They find this at a drug free and alcohol free tent camp hosted by faith communities and other local partners.
Instead of being forced to find shelter under a bridge or in the woods where bad things can happen, residents are provided with dinners, a washing machine for their clothing, hot showers, and a sense of community.
Camp residents are supported by the community-at-large while they stabilize their lives, search for work, or find a permanent place to call home.
Thank you for being a friend to Camp Unity and supporting our cause.
