Greetings friends,

I hope that this note finds you and your families healthy and well. We are thankful that the men and women at Camp Unity have remained healthy during the past nearly three months of the pandemic. Your generosity and kindness in providing meals, supplies and financial gifts during this time have made the difference in our ability to weather this situation.

Camp Unity has been hosted by St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church for longer than initially planned due to the coronavirus situation and associated Stay at Home Order. We are deeply grateful to St. Teresa Church and congregation members for their generous and compassionate response during this situation.

Camp Unity plans to move to our next host, Northshore United Church of Christ, Woodinville, during the third week of June. Out of caution for the health, safety and well-being of current residents as well as volunteers, and since limits on the size of gatherings will likely still be in place, Camp Unity residents plan to complete the actual move and setup this time without the help of volunteers.

The tentative start date for the move is June 15 and we anticipate it will take a week. We do need and would love your help with the move in other ways:

– Meals During the Move: We’re seeking volunteers to provide meals during the move, particularly lunch and dinners. Email Lori at peckolvanwormer@gmail.com if you can help.

– Move supplies: We will post a list of needed move supplies within the next week on Camp Unity’s needs list. Typical needs are contractor bags, large zip ties, work gloves (large).

A BIG GiveBIG 2020 Thank You!!
We are profoundly grateful to the 90+ donors and several churches who generously donated a total of $25,000 during our campaign to help Camp Unity continue to provide safe shelter and support for adults experiencing homelessness. This generous commitment from so many means the world to us. It will help fund essential services and support, such as portable toilets, waste management, truck rentals for the moves to various hosts, repairs to the shower and van, and replacement and addition of tents and platforms. Thank you so much to the following churches who provided gifts during this campaign: Bear Creek United Methodist Church, Bread of Life Christian Church in Seattle, Churchome, Holy Family Parish, Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Northshore Community Church, Overlake Christian Church and Wooden Cross Lutheran Church.

Camp Unity Needs

Meals: A big THANK YOU to the many volunteers who dropped off a dinner or provided funding for meals in May. Because of you, the residents at Camp Unity have had a hot and nourishing dinner every day! Looking ahead, there are a number of openings in June and we would love your help. There are currently about 20 people at Camp Unity. If you can help, please sign up on the camp’s meal calendar. The camp has a small tent for volunteers to drop off food or supplies so that all can maintain safe social distance. The tent is located in the parking area at St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 17856 NE Woodinville Duvall Rd, Woodinville.
