Meals

What is involved in bringing a meal to CUE residents?

  •  Camp Unity Eastside shelter is closed and we cannot accept meals.

  • Past guidance for meal providers:
  • Please bring enough food for all the camp residents.
  • A fully prepared dinner every evening is our goal. The residents like all sorts of food and generally whatever you would serve your family is a good choice.
  • Some of the CUE residents have dental and gum issues, so nuts and raw vegetables are not easy for them to eat. Cooked vegetables and green salads are always welcome.
  • Dinner time is at 6 p.m.
  • Please bring your meal hot and ready to eat.
  • Please bring disposable plates, cups, napkins and cutlery if you can, however the meal is the most important portion.
  • Milk, juice or bottled water are good choices for drinks.  The camp has coffee available 24/7.
  • The coronavirus has heightened the importance of basic precautions we all need to take to stay healthy and safe. If you believe you have been exposed to someone with coronavirus or if you or someone in your household have a fever or are experiencing sneezing or coughing within 48 hours of when you are scheduled to bring a dinner to Camp Unity, please reschedule your meal to a later date.
  • As always, we appreciate all food and meal providers using standard hygiene practices.
